HELLO 2010!!

Happy New Year! I haven't posted in a while. To be honest, I've been too frustrated over our current wait time. At this time, couples receiving referrals have waited 44 months. We have been waiting for approximately 38 months; our log in date is November 2006. The current month of referrals being made by the CCAA is April 2006. Seems like we're close, right? Well, not really. The wait continues to lengthen 2 months every month; this has been the case for about a year. China is not referring as many children as they have in the past. No one knows if the process will continue to grow longer; couples who want to begin the adoption process in China have been told to expect to wait at least 6-7 years for a referral! I've read that many couples have given up or have accepted a child with a disability. All of this news has been so disappointing to us both. It just feels like this will never happen, and it's all a dream.

It's Fall Y'all

Fall is on its way!! Once again, we are in the process of renewing all of our paperwork! We are hoping this will be the last time we have to do this. We have to renew our homestudy, fingerprints, and numerous other documents. Of course each time we renew paperwork, we pay additional fees. The paperwork is up for renewal every 18 months. Please pray this will be our last time. As a way to pass the time, I am in the process of becoming a Southern Living @ Home Independent Consultant. I am very excited about the opportunity to stay busy and make some money to help cover some of the numerous fees! Please send me an email if you'd like to host a party to help get me started. My email address is smithmissi@hotmail.com.

What a Wait!!

Well, school begins next week.  Another school year without our little girl.  The wait time for receiving a referral from China has once again increased!!  It now takes 40 months from the time of the Log In Date (LID)!!  I'm sure that the wait will continue to increase.  We're definitely learning patience during this entire process.  It just feels like we've been waiting forever.  Please keep us in your prayers as we continue the wait to bring our daughter home.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  Thanks to all of you for your support!!  We love you all.

Summertime

Summer is finally here!!  The CCAA is still in March 2006 for referrals.  According to our adoption agency, our wait has been extended to 38 months.  What disappointing news for us.  The wait has already been so long, 2 years, 6 months, and 1 week to be exact.  I hope we'll be able to take Mila to the beach next summer.  Until then, we'll continue to pray the wait ends soon.

Still Waiting....

It's almost April, and we're still waiting for a referral.  Our log-in date is currently 27 months.  The current log in date referrals have been waiting 35 months.  The wait time is continuing to get longer and longer.  When we began this process, the wait time was 32 months.  We're doing projects around the house; we're doing our best to save, save, save for our upcoming trip to China.
